Tuesday Tea

Today’s Tea: I don’t choose lemon flavored drinks a lot but when I’m in the mood for something like that Bigelow’s Lemon Lift Black Tea is usually what I go for.

From The Box: Tea and lemon… the perfect pair! In our distinctive blend, you don’t just taste the lemon notes, but the spices we’ve added really round out the cup to create a product unlike any other. It is wonderful to soothe your throat and make your mouth smile.

Ingredients: black tea, natural lemon flavor (soy lecithin), spice

Tuesday Tea

tea party-01

Today’s Tea:  I was in the mood for some orange spice black tea today and the brand I currently have on hand is Private Selection.  It’s not the best orange spice tea I’ve had but it is good!

From The Box: Private Selection Orange Spice Black Tea combines tea grown in Africa and Indonesia with orange peels, cinnamon and clove for a spicy and warm blend.

Tuesday Tea

rainy days-01

Today’s Tea:  It has been awfully gloomy the past few days so I wanted a tea that would make the day seem a little brighter. The choice was obvious!  The Endless Sunshine Tea… otherwise known as The Republic of Tea’s Cranberry Blood Orange.  If you like fruity teas this is definitely one you should try. It always reminds me of Wild Cherry Lifesavers (my favorite)!

From The Canister: Ready to take on the day? A cup of this tart-sweet, fruitful blend is a step in the right direction. Rich cranberries are deliciously sweet and tart.  Blood oranges are named for their crimson flesh and have a sunny citrus flavor. Every sip brings forth a flavor you will surely savor.  Enjoy sip by sip.

Ingredients: Fair Trade Certified fine black tea, natural cranberry flavor, orange peels, natural blood orange flavor and cranberry bits

Today’s Tea:  One of my favorite teas growing up was Lipton’s Amaretto black tea.  Actually, that was pretty much the only tea I drank.  I loved it!  I guess they stopped making it though because I haven’t been able to find it for a long time.  So I was really excited to see an Amaretto tea from Bencheley’s in a store a few months ago.  I made a cup as soon as I got home… and I was a little disappointed.    The tea was good, but just not as good as Liptons… or as good as I remember it being.  Time sometimes has a funny affect on memory.  Really, they might actually taste pretty similar!  And when I’m not comparing it to something else, Bencheley’s Amaretto tea is quite enjoyable!

From The Canister: Brewing Hints – Bring fresh, cold water to a rolling boil.  Place one tea bag in cup and pour boiling water over the bag.  Allow to steep for three to five minutes.  Serve piping hot or cool and pour over ice for a delicious refreshing drink.

Ingredients: Black tea with artificial flavor

Today’s Tea: Twining’s Lady Grey Tea is usually what comes to mind when I think of the perfect cup of tea.  I tend to drink it more in the spring and summer but its light, citrus taste will brighten any day year-round!

From The Box: Lady Grey is offered exclusively from Twinings.  This light black tea is perfectly balanced with the citrus fruit flavours of bergamot, orange and lemon to deliver a delightful tea with a refreshing taste and uplifting aroma.

Ingredients: Black tea, orange peel, lemon peel, citrus flavouring

Looking for a new tea to try? As the weather heats up and we’re about to move into summer I find myself drinking more fruity teas.  There are a lot of good ones to pick from but one of my favorites is Midsummer Peach from Hyson. It’s great served hot but it’s even better as an iced tea!

From the box: Velvety softness of peach flavour connecting Hyson’s equating smooth taste to yield a luscious brew.

Ingredients: 100% Ceylon Black Tea flavoured with nature identical flavour of Peach

Looking for a new tea to try?  Before I bought it, I wasn’t sure if I would like The Republic of Tea’s Blackberry Sage Black Tea. But I went ahead and got it.  It says it is a tea for wisdom… I couldn’t pass that up!   As soon as I opened the canister I knew I had picked a winner.  It has an amazing aroma!  And it tastes pretty good too!

From the canister: This soothing cup rekindles the spirit.  The first sip produces a soft berry note floating atop the taste of smooth, clean tea.  The next uncovers the head-clearing character of white sage with its wispy coolness dancing at the back of the throat.  An enchanting tea and herb blend.

Ingredients: Fine black tea, natural blackberry flavor and sage

Looking for a new tea to try?  One of my favorites right now is Bigelow’s Salted Caramel Black Tea.  Out of all of my teas (and I have a lot) this is the one I reach for the most.

From the box: Enjoy this popular combination of sweet and salty, now in a teacup.  Our all natural blend of hand-picked black tea and succulent caramel with just a hint of salt is the perfect treat.  Add a splash of milk and a little sweetener for a sublime guilt-free indulgence.

Ingredients: black tea, natural flavors (soy lecithin), rose hips, chicory root

I skip the milk and add just a little bit of sugar and it’s the perfect cup of tea!

Summer Wine Sunday

“Where did you meet Mrs. Clegg?”

“I was at a chapel tea.  I asked for cream but she converted me to custard.  And afterwards, during the hymns, I felt her take hold of my arm and all of a sudden I knew that it was no good trying to sneak out to the pub.”
